OUR PURPOSE

The Torbay Hospital League of Friends was set up in 1954 to provide amenities and services to support Torbay Hospital.
Over the years it has become one of the leading Leagues in the country providing many gifts - large and small - amounting to millions of pounds.
(see Gifts so far)
As well as its fund-raising activities the League also provides;
canteen facilities in the Outpatients Department and other waiting areas throughout the Hospital.
The Linen League where volunteers meet weekly to make special articles for wards and departments
and voluntary guides for patients visiting the various clinics.
The League is able to enhance that which the Trust provides and buy 'extras' to provide the most advanced methods of treatment,
for benefit of local people and staff of the hospital.

Its members help the Hospital by:

Supporting its work

Recruiting volunteers

Maintaining a relationship with the volunteers

Creating a link between the Hospital and the community it serves, and

The provision of funds to supplement its resources
